What is the Keitai Tamagotchi?
Recently, Bandai of Japan released a new version of the Tamagotchi Plus called the Shuku Keitai Kaitsuu Tamagotchi Plus (Tamagotchi Keitai for short) which can interact with Japanese cell phones via infrared and features even more new goodies! You can read a user user review of the Tamagotchi Keitai for more information. Unfortunately, the Tamagotchi Keitai or its cell phone interaction functions are not widely available outside of Japan. Our friends at TamaTalk have started a petition for Bandai to release the Keitai Tamagotchi outside of Japan. Until then, you can check Ebay.co.uk and Ebay.com for Tamagotchi Keitais available for sale by auction (remember that the US Dollar-to-Pound exchange rate means prices are much lower than they appear!).
